Plattform Lernende Systeme

Plattform Lernende Systeme brings together leading experts in self-learning systems and Artificial Intelligence from science, industry, politics and civic organizations. As a forum for exchange and cooperation of all stakeholders, its aim is to foster Germany’s position as an international technology. Gilles Mabire, CTO Continental Automotive, is a member of the Steering Committee, whereas Corina Apachite, Program Head Artificial Intelligence and Data, co heads one of the specialized focus groups that discuss the opportunities, challenges, and parameters for developing self-learning systems and using them responsibly.

Regensburg Center for Artificial Intelligence (RCAI)

The Regensburg Center for Artificial Intelligence (RCAI) is the research center for artificial intelligence at the Ostbayerische Technische Hochschule (OTH) in Regensburg, Germany. It connects AI activities and expertise from all faculties to share knowledge and promote progress in the most diverse aspects of artificial intelligence.

It connects AI activities and expertise from all faculties to share knowledge and promote progress in the most diverse aspects of artificial intelligence. When developing and implementing concepts, the RCAI takes a holistic approach and combines various AI technologies with the domain knowledge of its laboratories as well as ethical, social, and legal considerations. Dr. Corina Apachiţe is a member of RCAI’s Industry Advisory Board.

Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI)

The Munich Institute of Robotics and Machine Intelligence (MIRMI) at Technical University of Munich, Germany, strives for human-centered solutions in the areas of health, work, environment and mobility with a focus on robotics, perception and artificial intelligence. MIRMI fosters collaboration for the responsible development of technologies and cooperates with government, industry and renowned research communities, including MIT CSAIL, Baiosphere, Helmholtz Munich, Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, Ludwig Maximilian University Munich, Germany and the German Aerospace Center DLR. As a member of MIRMI’s Industry Advisory Board, Gilles Mabire, CTO Continental Automotive, is part of its important governance system.

Nanyang Technological University, Singapore

In 2020, Continental formed a joint corporate laboratory together Nanyang Technological University (NTU), focusing on research in sensing, communication, navigation and cloud technologies. The goal is to translate results from scientific research into AI-driven solutions for smart mobility and delivery, AI and software engineering as well as smart materials and communication that are both practical and viable in the automotive industry.

University of Maastricht, Netherlands

Artificial Intelligence does not only have an impact on technologies, but also on the people who work with it. That is why Continental has been participating in ai:conomics. The research project is led by an International Consortium of three partners: The Research Centre for Education and the Labour Market (ROA) of Maastricht University School of Business and Economics, The Institut für Arbeitsmarkt und Berufsforschung (IAB) and zukunft zwei GmbH. It is funded by the Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs (BMAS/ Denkfabrik Digitale Arbeitsgesellschaft) by resolution of the German Bundestag. The research project examines the effects of AI in the workplace through field studies and labor market data analysis. It generates scientific insights into AI's influence on work, helping all stakeholders shape this transformation to benefit as many people as possible.
