Babenhausen, March 26, 2025 – Continental presents the new "Ac2ated Sound" display, a technology that transforms the display unit into a speaker. This innovative solution utilizes the material properties of the display surface as a resonator to enable high-quality sound output.
Continental Introduces a Display You Can Hear: Ac2ated Sound Turns Vehicle Display into a Speaker
By integrating sound actuators into the display, we have succeeded in making the entire display surface usable as a resonator for the output of sounds in brilliant sound quality. This saves valuable installation space and reduces weight by up to 90 percent compared to conventional speakers.

Continental's "Ac2ated Sound" technology offers numerous advantages for a novel user experience. Acoustic feedback, speech, and other audio content are output directly from the screen, allowing individual conventional speakers to be replaced. The system uses actuators invisibly installed behind the display glass, causing it to vibrate audibly.
Another advantage of this technology is intuitive acoustic localization. Humans can precisely perceive the source of a sound in three-dimensional space, automatically directing their gaze to the relevant display instrument and increasing driver attention.
With the "Ac2ated Sound" display, Continental creates a completely natural, immersive user experience that combines both visual and acoustic output in a compact package. This innovation underscores Continental's expertise as a system integrator and offers customers a unique combination of functionality and design.
