Continental leads pioneering research in sustainable mobility with partners

Collaborations aim to develop smart systems to boost electromobility and further research to drive circularity in the automotive sector

October 23, 2023 -  Continental has signed three partnerships in Singapore recently, with a focus to further drive our research in sustainable mobility. The Memorandums of Understanding (MoU) are with leading industry players and research institutions, and are aligned with our own sustainability ambitions, covering facets such as emission-free mobility and the creation of a circular economy.

MoU 1: A partnership between Continental, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (NTU Singapore) and Volkswagen Group Innovation which seeks to develop smart energy management systems to optimize electric vehicle (EV) charging.

MoU 2: A collaboration between Continental, the French Alternative Energies and Atomic Energy Commission (CEA) and NTU Singapore to research new solutions to recycle electronic components from end-of-life vehicles.

MoU 3: A partnership between Continental, NTU Singapore and Pylon City, for the study of smart charging systems and battery optimization of EVs. Under this MoU, Continental and Pylon City will also aim to contribute to the development of national standards in Singapore, for outdoor charging infrastructure of autonomous mobile robots.

“Leveraging each partner’s capabilities and resources, we can pioneer innovative solutions to transform the automotive sector and improve its environmental standards, creating a more sustainable ecosystem for the future,” said Mr. Lo Kien Foh, President and CEO of Continental Automotive Singapore.
